Fair 2009

We've all been to county fairs and had lots of fun BUT the Iowa State Fair may be the best state fair in all the 50 states of this US of A. The fair is a small city with paved streets and restraunts, parks, a western town, a "birthing building", cattle, horse, swine, etc. barns that are clean and very large. We saw the state hog (all 1,117 lbs of him), and the state bull. The boys saw beautiful blegium horses with horse shoes that 'clapped' very lowd on the cement floors. Most of us went down the "giant slide" and held tight to the little ones. There were deep fried twinkies, oreos, and hohos..mmm good!!! We took in a grizzly bear show and avoided the midway because it would be too much for Alex and Cole. When the day was almost done we found a park that had the wonderful water fountains that you see the boys splashing in. Altogether our group was composed of Jennifer, mom, dad, Nathan, Heather, Cole, Hunter, Jessica, Alex, and Sammy.
