Little Sammy isn't so little anymore. The boy is starting to stretch out and prefers the "Tarzan" look.

Last week Donna and I took Cole to a pumkin patch and petting farm but he was more interested in the lazy farm cat he found. He carried it around as long as he could before the old tom made a break for it.

Ryan and Alex set up a stage and performed a puppet act for the family. Alex did the motions while his dad made the characters talk. Ryan is very good at imitating all the muppet voices. Hmmmmm!!!!!

We spent four days at Ryan and Jessica's last week and had a challenging game of dominos as you can tell from Ryan's face.

It has taken a year and a half for Sammy to warm up to me long enough to rest in my lap for any length of time. Either he's accepting me into his bubble or I was just a good pillow for a couple of minutes.

Donna' Big Plans for her Armoire

Sometimes I get myself into a lot of trouble-but really- all I was trying to do was save a few bucks and keep Dona from spending more money on a new tv stand (entertainment center).
I said "Why don't we just down size the existing entertainment cabinet we have. I'm sure I can do it and make it look good." It wasn't long before I was measuring and examining the project.
Put a saw in my hands and I'm a cutting fool!!! (within reason of course) I'm going to take one of the doors and use it as the top.

All I did was take off two feet of wasted space and reconnect the heavy, cumbersome, extravegant top and "wallah" Donna has her new cabinet and I've scored some much needed points to keep wifey happy.

This is the fineshed product. We are looking for a carved wood piece to rest on top. Any ideas?
The grandsons would like a lion, elephant, whitetail deer, or elk.

"Applesauce season again"

Donna found a deal on a bushel of apples and even though she and Jennifer are getting ready for a trip to Chicago she set out to peal, boil, and mash them into her tasty applesauce.
This is the mashing process.
See the steam coming off the freshly boiled pan of mushy apples !!!

Here are her pans of pealed apples ready for boiling.
